///gormley and the difusse city/// We understand the construction of the city as an accumulation of small actuations and layered identities. We create a generic building system, like Calder's Circus inside a suitcase, able to adapt the show, depending on the circumstances.

 

Instead of deep buildings with interior patios, or closed blocks, with a generation of known urban typologies, we propose to create a diffuse city. In each one of the different sites, buildings define diffuse streets, creating public spaces adaptable to different border conditions. This system avoids the perception of big continuous linear buildings, creating a fragmented and low density image.

 

Big buildings composed, just apparently, by small buildings. Creating an illusion formed by units, independent clusters grouped in wrinkled buildings. This typology achieves a reduction of 20% in the perimeter, compared to traditional typologies.
